Decorating is a fun and creative way to prepare for the holidays. If you are entertaining this year, preparing your holiday table is just as important as preparing any other part of your home. World renowned event designer and luxury lifestyle home and entertaining expert Jung Lee has a few tips for creating special table for holiday celebrations:

Whatever your theme is, the trick is layering. Start with a table cloth or placemats and then layer each place setting – a charger plate, a dinner plate and a salad or appetizer plate if you wish. Then add a simple napkin in a pretty napkin ring to the center of the place setting – this is an easy way to make a huge difference to your table. For glasses, everyone should have at least two: one for water and at least one for wine. The more shimmer and elevation on your table, the prettier it will be.

For decorative accents, I like to bring in greens and natural elements that remind me of the holidays – magnolia leaves, long pine branches, pine cones and garland are all great, festive options. I also like to add fruit, such as figs or grapes.
