Being the universal hotbed for business, New York City is equally beneficial and volatile for entrepreneurs looking to break into their respective markets. In order to thrive in the bustling city, current and prospective business owners need to have abnormal gumption, coupled with an exceptional vision. Hal Coopersmith’s New York Launch Pod highlights these particular individuals who are establishing their startups and nontraditional careers in the big apple.

“I think it’s certainly a great place to start a business. That’s why I started the podcast is because a lot of entrepreneurs are doing exciting things here. What’s great about New York is that there’s a whole mass of people who can help you grow your company, whatever market you are trying to enter,” explains Coopersmith, who launched the monthly podcast a little over a year ago.

New York Launch Pod features businesses ranging from financial tech startups to new neighborhood businesses. The interviewees vary in age and clout, exhibiting blossoming innovative aspirations as well as solidified, successful enterprises. The only constant in the mix is that their businesses are located within New York’s boroughs.

“Hopefully, there are topics on the show that can interest any listener,” states Coopersmith.

Born and raised in New York, he grew up in a decidedly entrepreneurial environment with a mother who started her own personal training company and a father who continued fostering his family’s law practice. Coopersmith practices law himself, counseling start-up businesses and specializing in commercial real estate transactions, residential purchases and sales, and wills and trusts. His penchant for business development, combined with his prior knowledge of radio broadcast eventually lead to the inception of New York Launch Pod.

“In college I worked at our radio station and was crazy enough to combine my interest in business and interest in radio to form a podcast.”

Fans of the New York Launch Pod can look forward to more interviews picking the brains of New York’s diverse business-savvy minds. More information, as well transcriptions of past podcasts can be found here.
