WEEKLY MOVING TIP FROM FLATRATE #4

FlatRate has all the resources to make sure that your move is as seamless as possible! These include great tips that you can use on your next move:

Packing Your Kitchen:

Same as with the books, find a bunch of smaller boxes for your dishes and glassware. All those items can get pretty heavy when packed into one container. For your everyday plates, dishes, cups and mugs, get some cheaper paper towels to wrap them. Old newspapers will transfer smudgy newsprint to them and you will be spending your first few days at your new home in a dishwashing frenzy. For finer things, like stemware, that nice set passed down from your grandma and the champagne flutes you got for a wedding gift, consider getting specialized boxes with cardboard dividers and tissue paper. And don’t forget to mark all these boxes with, “Fragile” to warn your burly movers. For the heavy-duty pots and pans, use older linens and towels to wrap them, saving space and money. See if you have any of the original packaging for small appliances like the slow cooker, blender, stand mixer or food processor. That will coming in handy.
