WEEKLY MOVING TIP FROM FLATRATE #19

by | Oct 8, 2015 | Downtown Living

FlatRate has all the resources to make sure that your move is as seamless as possible! These include great tips that you can use on your next move:

Buying vs. Free Boxes

With most of your packing decisions, you will be faced with the choice of scavenging for boxes or buying new ones that you need to assemble. The new boxes will allow you to customize size and type. You can get standing wardrobe boxes for your hanger-bound clothes and specialized boxes for your paintings, framed pictures and art pieces. But if the budget is a consideration, you can hit some local stores to pick up free boxes. Liquor stores are good spots because they want to get rid of old cardboard and those boxes need to be strong in order to carry large glass bottles full of liquid. McDonald’s fry boxes, the kind that house the raw potatoes that are delivered to each restaurant, have a legendary reputation for strength. See which one of your friends has recently moved. They are going to be chock full of cardboard.
