When Chris Noth invites you to a night of jazz you just have to move your head up and down and say “YES!” That’s exactly what happened last Wednesday when the DOWNTOWN team was invited to the new album release for Marcus Goldhaber at The Cutting Room (you caught us: sometimes we go uptown).

Marcus Goldhaber made his way to New York City in 2000 through musical theater, developing a vast repertoire that also includes selections from “The Wonderful Wizard of Song.” He is now releasing his 4th album, A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening.

Among the many highlights from the release concert were some of Goldhaber’s originals “Somebody In Love,” a swinging New Orleans-inspired song featuring tenor saxophonist, Joel Frahm, and the track, “As Long As I’m Falling In Love.”

The night was a perfect combination of The Cutting Room’s environment with an irresistible 50’s air, delicious cocktails, the outstanding band, lyrics about love and the sexy vibe of Goldhaber’s voice.
