Stretch your imagination this weekend at the 12th annual Big apple film festival

Movie lovers will want to check out the Big Apple Film Festival happening this weekend. Located at 181-189 2nd Avenue, at Village East Cinemas, you won’t want to miss out on these exciting films.

Friday November 6th 2015:

Short films:

Chaos: 7:55-9:55, theater 2, showing time 11 minutes. Everyone is rebelling in an effort to protest against the president. This film traces the life of a warden of a prison who chooses to ignore the rules of the government. What consequences must he take on?

Ivory Shadows: 10:00pm-midnight, theater 3, running time 19 minutes. A thriller that traces the lives of a father and a son and the absence of their wife and mother.

Feature films:

Dark: 10:30pm-Midnight, theater 2, running time 93 minutes: What happens when a beautiful model with paranoia is left alone in a dark apartment during a blackout?

Invisible Ink: 5:15-7:15pm,theater 2, running time 97 minutes. This film looks at the lives of a few cartoonists living in New York City.

Saturday November 7th 2015:

Documentaries:

Abigail DeVille’s Harlem stories, 6:00pm-8:00pm, theater 4, running time 8 minutes: How does art save lives? This film delves into the struggles of a Harlem woman who leaves certain items from her shopping cart on the streets to create sculptures.

Art bastard: 3:30pm-5:30 pm, theater 4, running time 80 minutes. A comical piece about an artist who doesn’t quite fit in a particular ‘box.’

Short films:

Acoustic space: 12:45-2:45, theater 3, running time 15 minutes. A satiric film based on how communication has shifted over the past few decade.  This film is placed in a restaurant centered on a couple who are distracted by their cellphones.

Falling to pieces: 8:30-10:30 pm, run time 18 minutes, theater 3: A woman finds out that her husband was a organ donor after he has passed. This is a journey of her attempt to find each donor.
