Calling all museum lovers, this is a rare opportunity that you don’t want to miss out on. Be among the lucky few who get to spend a memorable night in the American Museum of Natural History located at Central Park West and 79th St.
Kicking the night off, the doors will close and the lights will dim. You and your group will head out with flashlights in search of a variety of adventures. There will be so much stuff to learn, do and see, you won’t want to sleep at all.
Patrons can meet their relatives in the Anne and Bernard Spitzer Hall of Human Origins, climb the stairs and enter the Age of Dinosaurs, stand beneath a fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex, explore the live-animal exhibitions with knowledgeable museum guides or encounter live animals—bats, wolves, birds of prey—and learn all about their habitats. Then, discover the Secret Ocean now showing in 3-D the LeFrak Theater before the night comes to a magical close. Settle down beneath the iconic 94-foot-long blue whale, next to African elephants, or at the base of a striking volcanic formation and fall asleep in the darkened halls of one of the world’s most beloved museums.
This event is open to 6–13 year olds (Scout nights, 6–16) and will last from 5:45 p.m. to 9 a.m. The 2015 dates that are still available are August 7 and October 9 (Halloween). The 2016 dates include January 15th, Girl Scout night is November 13, 2015 and for Boy Scouts are November 7, 2015 and January 9, 2016.

The cost per person is $145, members are $135 and groups of 15 or more are $125. The admission prices include evening snack and light breakfast, fossil fact-finding mission by flashlight, live-animal special exhibition or live-animal presentation, cots for all participants, LeFrak Theater film, and take home activities.
