Pacha NYC: After 10 Years of Music, Finally Shutting Their Doors For Good

After ten years of holding non-stop parties and hosting world-famous DJs, Pacha NYC is finally shutting its doors for good.

“The average nightclub lasts 18 months – we lasted 120,” said Pacha New York’s president, Eddie Dean, in an official statement. “It’s been a wild ride that none of us will ever forget. Our final parties will celebrate the different artists, styles, and scenes that have made Pacha great.”

In recent years, the club’s lineup has included entertainers such as Matt Zo, Alesso and Porter Robinson. This impressive lineup and 30,000 square feet of non-stop dancing have helped Pacha earn its spot as “Best Superclub” at the Club Awards for the past five years. According to their statement, about 6 million people have partied in their venue for over 12,000 hours.

“That’s more than 1,500 shows over 500 weeks,” said their statement. “We’ve had many marriages, quite a few divorces and at least 522 babies conceived. Fans have burned close to 10 billion calories over ten years, while our barbacks have ran nearly 10 thousand miles (burning a million calories), carrying over 2 million bottles of alcohol (enough to fill 2 Olympic sized swimming pools)!”

However, the iconic nightclub isn’t going out without a bang. For the entire month of December, they will be hosting consistent events to celebrate their 10-year anniversary. These closing parties have lineups featuring icons such as Puff Daddy, Dirty South and Carnage. And on Saturday, December 12, the club will throw back to its beginnings and feature Erik Morillo, their founding resident DJ.

Once December is over, they won’t be shutting their doors just yet. On New Year’s Eve, Pacha will run a 72-hour marathon event to ring in 2016. Afterwards, they will be hosting a series of closing parties as their final goodbye.
