If you’re a dad or dad-to-be, you can probably relate to Jimmy Fallon in his campaign to make sure his new daughter says “dada” as her first word. Fallon feels so strongly about this that he created a children’s book all about it. The book, titled “Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Dada”, is a short picture book about animals with fathers trying to teach them how to say dada. Fallon signed books for a crowd at Barnes & Noble on Saturday, June 13.

Before the signing, the Tonight Show host talked a little bit about being a father. He shared some of his daughter, Winnie’s favorite books, such as “Goodnight Gorilla”, “Goodnight Moon”, and best of all “Clifford the Big Red Dog”. He even showed the audience a little video of his daughter trying to say the long-winded name of Clifford’s owner, Emily Elizabeth. He then answered audience questions, including what his favorite show segment is (Ew!), how he became a comedian, and who was his favorite guest on the Tonight Show.

Fallon jokingly answered that it was Mario Batali, who was sitting in the front row of the event with his son Leo Batali. The Iron Chef said that he, like Fallon with his first daughter, failed to have his son’s first word be dada.

Fallon’s role as a father has been addressed in many articles, and there was even a father daughter photo shoot in people magazine. It is clear in the way he talks that the talk show host absolutely loves being a dad. “Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Dada” is a charming little book for any parent, and one of many accomplishments for Jimmy Fallon.
