Renowned New York developer and philanthropist, Elie Hirschfeld, and his wife, Sarah Schlesinger Hirschfeld, the senior attending physician and associate professor of clinical investigation at The Rockefeller University, were among the dignitaries celebrating Park East Synagogue’s Jerusalem Day Gala at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
The New York luminaries were joined by esteemed Israeli guests including Dr. Rony Dahan and his wife, Maya, Dr. Avi Levin and his wife, Rivka and Dr. Gadi Lalazar and his wife, Yelena.
Each of the respected physicians are temporarily in the United States in advanced post doctoral medical research and/or medical practice in New York City, working closely with Dr. Schlesinger at The Rockefeller University.
The 127th Annual Dinner Dance was hosted by the historic Park East Synagogue congregation.
In addition to the festivities at the Jerusalem Day Gala, attendees were treated to a moving program delivered by the Park East Day School’s children’s choir and internationally renowned Cantor Yitzchak Helfgot.
Comedian Elon Gold served as master of ceremonies of the event in support of the landmark synagogue which has been presided over by esteemed Rabbi Arthur Schneier since 1962.
