Screen Shot 2016-04-27 at 1.05.57 PMPresented by the Advantage Première Art FundLouise Manzon’s exhibition Beyond, held in New York City at Gallery 61 at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).

The exhibition explores and expands upon archetypes of Greek mythology including the female figure, sea creatures, the natural world and the elements that pose as a threat to it. The relationship between the forms and themes of her creations has been constant throughout her collections Message in the Bubble, Rust, Personal Structures-Crossing Borders and Dialogus.

Manzon was born in Brazil, and received her master’s degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute. She eventually decided to dedicate herself entirely to sculpture and attended the Art Students League and the National Academy School of Fine Arts in New York City. Her artistic tendencies span from her father Jean Manzon who was a renowned photographer and filmmaker.

Beyond further showcases Manzon’s aesthetic and her talent for creating dynamic movement and sentiment within her sculptures. The exhibit extends through June 3rd. More about the exhibition can be found here. For additional information and to make an appointment, please contact Jennifer Mitchell-Nevin.
