Yesterday, May 3th, the Young Professionals Council of Greater New York hosted Rally for Relief; a glamorous poolside event to benefit the American Red Cross of Greater New York. The benefit took place at The Beach at Dream Downtown, a pool, bar, and grill located in the center of Dream Downtown in Chelsea. The event helped to create both donations and awareness to the Red Cross, which provides disaster all over the New York, the country and globally.
YPC member and one of the hosts of the event, Nathan Berkoff was excited and eager to bring awareness to the organization as a physical resource for disaster relief but also emotional support for victims of disasters ranging from earthquakes to fires to flooding. This universal support is indicative of Red Cross’s mission to “[prevent] and [alleviate] human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
