If you’re looking for a new challenging and exciting activity, the City Challenge Obstacle Race is something to mark on your calendars. This 3.1 mile urban obstacle race is not like the others because it is CLEAN- no mud involved!
The event brought in 1,200 athletes from all over New York City to Randall’s Island to tackle over 20 obstacles including NYPD cop cars, NYC taxis, rope climbing, sand bag carries, climbing cargo nets, wall climbs, kettlebell tosses and many more. Have no fear! This race is suitable for participants of all ages, sizes and fitness levels as you can go at your own pace and comfortably complete the Spartan-like challenge.
Not only was the City Challenge Obstacle Race fun, but the participants were running for a good cause. The race partnered with Susan G. Komen foundation to raise funds and successfully brought in over $10,000 for breast cancer awareness. Sponsors for the event included Class Pass, Qinetic, EBoost, Muscle Milk, Naked, and Grae Therapy.
You can run individually or get a team together for inspiration and motivation as you compete against each other in the race! Stayed tuned to their website to see when the next City Challenge Obstacle Race is.
