The annual Macy’s Flower Show opens this weekend!
This year’s flower show theme is “The Secret Garden,” which offers up an amazing arrangement designed by Bachman’s display and features thousands of flowers from around the United States.
The flower show will be installed on the ground floor of the recently renovated, but still historic Herald Square flagship store, rather than in the traditional outdoor tents at Herald Square.
The overall design, is inspired by backyard or informal gardens, and will transform the space, as well as the Broadway windows, into a brilliant indoor conservatory.
Special programs will include a sand art installation by artist Joe Mangrum, which he’ll create over the course of the morning.
Children can participate in the seventh-floor Kids department reading of Ladybug Girl, and at 1 p.m., can view a performance by cast members of the Tony-winning Broadway show Pippin. And starting at 2 p.m., families can build terrariums, and participated in the Cirque du Soleil coloring station.
The 40th Annual Macy’s Flower Show will be up at Macy’s Herald Square from March 22 through April 6.
