Have you ever seen tricky situations in movies and thought you were savvier than the main character? Now you can prove it. At Escape the Room: NYC customers can try their hand at Sherlocking their way out of rooms.

Upon entering, visitors are placed in ordinary-looking rooms in groups from 6-10 players (depending on the room type) and must figure out how to get out. The trick is to look for clues around the room, find concealed objects, and decipher puzzles.  The game is focused to hone the visitors’ teamwork skills and requires cooperation. But each group has only one hour to escape the room, though the company recommends setting aside an hour and a half.

There are two NYC locations where you can play the game: downtown or midtown. At the downtown location on Suffolk St., you can try escaping from either a theater or an apartment. At the midtown location, try your hand at getting out of an office, an agency, or a home (Victorian-themed).  All games are around $30 and open to people of all ages.
