Here are some exciting events and sites to check out in downtown New York this week, courtesy of Gogobot. Visit the website or download the app for more GoGo This Week upcoming events.

1.Pillow Fight
Washington Square Park (Greenwich Village)
Sat, Apr 2nd at 3pm

New Yorkers have had to endure a long and cold winter. Enough is enough! Come out of hibernation and bring your feather-free pillow to Washington Square Park this Saturday at 3pm. Join thousands that plan to whack winter away at this annual event. (Please don’t swing your pillow too hard…) Pajamas are encouraged and we might bring a scarf.

2. Distillers Festival
The Bowery Hotel (East Village)
Sat, Apr 2nd (Check site for sessions)

Break out your sharpest suit and your best flapper dress for a scene straight out of “The Great Gatsby” at the fabulous Craft Distillers Festival at The Bowery Hotel. You’ll be doing the Charleston to 1920’s jazz band while sampling over 60 “specially-selected craft spirits.”

3. Affordable Art Fair
Metropolitan Pavilion (Chelsea)
Wed, Mar 30th-Sun, Apr 3rd (check site for hours)

Spring cleaning is not just about chasing dust bunnies or figuring out the origin of the weird stain on your wall, it’s about getting new and original art for your digs. The Affordable Art Fair proves that it’s never too late or too early to start collecting art especially when prices start at $100. Potential buyers and art lovers can browse a wide range of works from today’s leading art galleries from across the country.

4. Chillwave Night
Bowery Ballroom (Lower East Side)
Sat, Apr 2nd at 8pm

Chilling and listening to Brooklyn indie band Small Black is pretty much our perfect way of spending this Saturday night. If you’ve had a crappy week, these guys’ lush pop-chill vibes will smooth out all the rough edges.

5. Urban Voices in Art
Check site for venue locations (Lower Manhattan)
Fri, Mar 4th-Sat, Apr 9th (check site for showtimes)

Downtown Urban Arts Festival is an annual arts event that promotes “diversity in the arts by showcasing urban expression.” The performances (poetry, music, theater and film) represent a rich variety of voices speaking out about the trials and tribulation of urban life.

6. Contemporary Austrian Cuisine
Freud (Greenwich Village)
Daily for dinner; Weekends for Brunch

Freud, the contemporary Austrian restaurant that opened last month has long been on our to try list. We enjoyed sinking our teeth into the savory Onion Tart, the Dark Rye Spatzle, Wiener Schnitzel (utter perfection), and the juicy Freud Burger. With the announcement of a new brunch menu, we have even more reason to come back.
