Downtown Recommends: ROYCE’ Chocolate

by | Jun 22, 2015 | Dining

The Japanese prefecture of Hokkaido is famed for its milk. Creamy, fresh and light, Hokkaido milk translates into equally as delectable confectionery, especially ROYCE’ chocolate.

Once hidden away in the city of Sapporo, ROYCE’ slowly charmed chocolate lovers across the Asia-Pacific to eventually land stateside in New York.

High quality ingredients and attentive production distinguish ROYCE’ for its unique chocolate.

The brand has an expansive range of chocolate offerings, but the common factor amongst ROYCE’ chocolates is their rich, refined flavor.

Nama Chocolate, the brand’s staple product, mimics ganache in its velvety, smooth texture that melts in your mouth. The chocolate squares are lightly topped with a cacao powder. Each square is a truly unrivaled experience. Nama Chocolate comes with and without liquor. Nama Chocolates are packaged with an ice pack and cooler bag with each purchase, since they need to be refrigerated.

Nama Chocolate is available in five seasonal flavors. Brand favorites include the flavors Bitter and Champagne.

Nama Chocolate Bitter (contains liquor): the Hennessy Cognac infusion creates an alluring dark aroma that compliments the semi-sweet chocolate.

Nama Chocolate Champagne (contains liquor): the milk chocolate is made with Pierre Mignon Champagne, and emits a fragrance of this luxury ingredient.

ROYCE’s chocolate almonds flirt with the palette due the sweet flavor of its chocolate coat combined with the almond’s crunchy texture. The chocolate almonds come in five flavors, but the Maccha Almond Chocolate stands amongst the rest with its green tea chocolate coat. The protein rich almond and antioxidant filled green tea makes this dessert irresistible.

Combine a traditional American snack and luxurious chocolate to produce Potato Chip Chocolate. This unique combination is available in three flavors.

The Fromage Blanc flavor seems slightly out-of-the-box, but these chips covered in cheese-flavored white chocolate will awaken your taste buds. The sweet and salty flavors and crunchy texture are a pleasant surprise.

Each chocolate delight costs less than $20, satisfying customers of every budget and taste.
