Dos Toros Taqueria is slated to bring its San Francisco-style Mexican cuisine to the Financial District this fall. The approximately ten-year lease has been signed for a ground floor space at 101 Maiden Lane between Gold and Pearl streets. It will be joining Juice Generation and Fields Good Chicken in the TF Cornerstone 51-story residential building.
The quesadilla, burrito and taco joint’s new spot is the former home of Tres Carnes. This will be the chain’s ninth New York City location, with its eighth location at 64 Court St. in Brooklyn currently under works and scheduled to open later this summer.
Dos Toros first opened in Union Square in 2009 when brothers and West Coast natives, Leo and Oliver Kremer, realized the Mexican food they grew up loving didn’t exist on this side of the country. Locations throughout the city have been popping up ever since, providing east coasters with Bay Area-style burritos. In typical California fashion, the chain also takes pride in its commitment to fresh ingredients and sustainability.
The new location comes as good news to Wall Street lunch-goers, who currently face relatively slim pickings.
