“Kriolo” is one of eight songs on the new EP, Vagabond Road, an interesting mix of rap, jazz, boom bap, Latin and African influences. Said iLLspokinn of his passion for our city:
“I moved to New York City to pursue my music dream that I now get to live. This city has prepared me for my career launch around the world. I made it to Africa for the first time last year, and played in the island country that my grandparents were born in, Cabo Verde. The track ‘Kriolo’ was inspired by my travels to the homeland, and it’s where I met Fattú Djakité, the singer featured on this track.”
