The biggest celebration of authentic barbecue is coming to Madison Square Park! Join ‘cue fans and the most talented pitmasters in the country at the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party on June 13-14.

The 13th annual barbecue festival features 17 connoisseurs coming from across the U.S. to handcook their own authentic ‘cue for New Yorkers. Guests can enjoy the smells of smoked meat, the genuine music from the South, as well as some of the country’s  best barbecue. Performances by a few musical guests include the Reed Turner Band, Shook Twins, Whiskey Shivers and Nikki Lane and more.

The delicious menu offers all types of traditional dishes available to purchase. From pork spare ribs with pickled peppers being made by Jean-Paul Bourgeois, to Jamaican Jerk St. Louis Ribs with Caribbean Slaw by Billy Durney, and Mike Emerson making his Baby Back Ribs with baked beans. There will be a large variety of servings of everyone’s favorites.

Admission to this celebration of barbecue craftsmanship is free and open to the public. It is also offering a VIP experience to attendees for a first class heaven of eats, drinks, meet and greets with the award-winning chefs, a shaded lounge and air conditioned comfort station bathrooms plus more.

While enjoying your ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, sausage and briskets, know that all beneficiaries of the festival are going to the Madison Square Park Conservancy. The Conservancy is dedicated to keeping the historic park clean, beautiful and active. Their mission is to protect and advance the seven-acre park for locals and visitors to have a place for recreation and reflection in the bustling city.

The festival is placed in Madison Square Park and the surrounding streets from 23rd to 27th Street, and between 5th Avenue and Park Avenue. It is beginning at 11 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m.
