Grace and Jackie discuss gentrification with Ernie Anastos
On Monday April 13, Grace A. Capobianco CEO/Publisher and Jackie Hart, Editor represented Downtown Magazine on Fox5 News at 6 with Ernie Anastos. Anastos, who is a long-time supporter of the magazine, asked the two about gentrification and its effects on lower Manhattan. Grace and Jackie, who represent different demographics, gave a well-rounded explanation on gentrification’s various effects. Grace strongly believes that gentrification has done nothing but positive things for the lower Manhatten area; Jackie, on the other hand, sees gentrification as something that potentially pushes those who cannot afford the growing rent costs, out of the city.
