Comprised of highly-qualified teachers from various walks of life, Book Nook provides top-tier literacy education. Its Book Nook Enrichment Program aims to fill the gap between the early school years and grade school, helping to teach children the love for both learning and reading. Founder Rina P. Collins first launched Book Nook on the Upper West Side, and is about to open Book Nook’s first downtown location.
“We are aiming to bring the wonder and magic that words can instill in a young child to this amazing neighborhood,” began Rina of why 23 Warren Street is its chosen spot. Continued Andy Collins: “We love how downtown Manhattan has been at the forefront of the early education renaissance in the city.”
One thing which makes Book Nook different from other programs is its overall approach. Rina explained: “Book Nook uses an organic approach to literature and storytelling to expand the minds of children through words and illustration.” She added: “In this age of technology, we have found there is a lack of programs dedicated to the development of childhood literacy. We are filling that void with our classes that are primarily focused on enhancing a child’s reading and writing abilities.”
Book Nook is currently enrolling students for its spring and summer programs. More information can be found at www.booknooknyc.com, while Book Nook itself can be followed on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.
