VMA’s 2017 Red Carpet Recap

Some of the most famous celebrities, including artists, actresses and models showed up in their fabulous outfits for the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards last night, Sunday, August 27th. The VMA’s are typically a lively, fun red carpet, but this year, there was an alluring twist added among other interpretations, and we are stunned.

This year’s silhouettes and color scheme was unique. Some went for more of a formal, classic look, while others took the opportunity to show off a new striking look. We saw long dresses, short dresses, jumpsuits, and more, creating a diverse red carpet overall.

The color scheme was all over the place, but a lot of the looks involved a dark, or rather darker than normal, color, especially the solid black. As we begin to enter the fall season, dark colors are forecasted to take over, and this red carpet jumpstarted just that.

The fashion was enticing, daring, and different than the “norm” by featuring bold, sexy looks, and we are intrigued. Here are Downtown Magazine’s favorite looks from the 2017 VMA’s Red Carpet.

Trend Report: Business Casual Trends for Women

It’s possible to remain trendy while dressing for the professional world. Dressing business casual is full of classics, but a true fashionista can keep up with the trends and incorporating them into her work attire. For many of us, summer vacations are over (or soon will be) — and we’re back in the office full-time. Yet, it’s still blazing hot outside.

The business casual basics remain to be blouses, pencil skirts, blazers, slacks, flats, pumps and accessorized with watches, totes, statement necklaces and the likes. These classics are still a huge part of dressing professional, and can easily be sunny skies and hot temperature-friendly.

Here are Downtown Magazine‘s favorite business casual trends to add to your professional wardrobe. A business woman is powerful, but a fashionable business woman is unstoppable.
