AUTUMN IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING, AND THE SCENT OF PUMPKIN PUP CUPS IS GETTING ME EXCITED! It’s the season for my favorite events and holidays, like Barktoberfest and Halloween! I can’t wait to get dressed up and see many of my other furry friends in their best costumes, and to go trick-or-treating (emphasis on the ‘treat’) on Halloween! I love rolling around in the leaves and feeling the breeze through my fur as I run through the dog park! When the holiday season rolls around, I know it’s time to visit with family, indulge in holiday treats, and (if I’m a good boy) get gifts from Santa!
Matilda
Only two months old, Matilda (Millie or Mills for short) is from Syracuse, New York. She is a domestic shorthair cat and her PAWrents are Grace, who works at Barnes & Noble as well as being a junior editor for DOWNTOWN Magazine, and Hopetan, who works for FedEx. Matilda is excited for her first fall, and can’t wait to cuddle up with her PAWrents, watch Halloween movies, and try pumpkin for the first time! Matilda says she overheard her Mom talking to her Dad about her Halloween costume being something silly like a grandma or dinosaur, but what Millie really wants to be is the princess that she is. As for gifts, Mills would really like to receive some food, specifically salmon!

“I can’t wait to try pumpkin for the first time this fall!”
Greg
‘Greg the Egg’ is a pitbull and boxer mix, who just turned two on October 1st! He lives in NYC near Battery Park with his PAWrents, Connor and Savannah, who both work in insurance. This Halloween, he’s dressing up as a rotisserie chicken! In the fall, Greg enjoys playing with a ball and fetching, as well as visiting Petco for their free treats! His favorite holiday treat is pumpkin puree and cottage cheese mix, and he’s even hoping to receive a cottage cheese pie for a holiday gift!

“I hope I get a cottage cheese pie as a Christmas gift!”
Paia
Coming all the way from Seattle, Washington is six year old golden doodle, Paia. Her PAWrents are Christophe, a hair stylist, and Natacha, a full-time Mom. Paia enjoys getting her exercise in by running on the beach and taking a dip in the water when it’s warm enough! She also enjoys spending time at Seattle’s Magnuson Dog Park. For Halloween, Paia loves to dress up as a skeleton. She’s also excited for her birthday, and hopes to get hundreds of tennis balls as a gift.

“I love running on the beach and swimming in the water!”
Sid
A seven month old miniature dachshund, living in Battery Park with his dad, Xavier, is a dental hygienist and his mom, Izzy, is a senior HR director for Spectrum News NY1. He also has a sister, India, who is in graduate school, but she finds time to come home and play with him of course. In the fall, Sid enjoys taking weekend trips to Frederick, Maryland. He also enjoys going to his favorite dog park everyday to run in circles through the fallen leaves and play with his other puppy pals. This will be Sid’s first Halloween, and he’s very excited! His mommy said he should dress up like a mailman since he loves to tear up all her mail. For the holidays, Sid really wants a warm knit sweater because he dislikes the cold.

“I want a warm knit sweater this holiday season!”
Ginger
This two year old American shorthair cat is from Columbus, New Jersey. His PAWrents are Jason, a buyer, and Jolyn, an accountant. His favorite fall time activity is bird watching, and he enjoys basking in the breezy weather by an open window. Ginger’s favorite autumn treat is pumpkin spice catnip. For Halloween, he wants to dress up as a lion. One gift Ginger is hoping to receive this holiday season is a remote control toy mouse to chase around! Although Ginger faces the challenge of having leukemia, he remains strong and continues to fight with the support of his family!

“I want to dress up as a lion this Halloween!”
Sailor
A maltipoo pup from Battery Park City, belonging to retired attorney and chef, Leslie, originally a rescue from Alabama, he now resides in Battery Park City. Sailor is a special pup who plays a very important role in Leslie’s life. He was brought to his PAWrent after she lost her dog, Hogan, after over fifteen years together. She was heartbroken, and couldn’t imagine another furry friend coming into her life. That is until Waggytail Rescue came into the picture. Leslie saw a listing for a pup named Quatro, and with the support of her friends, she finally visited Waggytail and met her new dog. His full name, Sailor Moon Quatro Hogan Lipton, holds deep meaning and lots of love. Now, Sailor is an affectionate and snuggly pup who enjoys spending time with his mom. He may have a strong personality and be slightly dramatic, but he’s living his best life in Battery Park City and although Leslie adopted him, she will always express how he truly saved her.

“I’m thankful for Waggytail Rescue for bringing me to my Mom, Leslie!”
