Chelsea Market’s ARTECHOUSE opened a new exhibit to the public, entitled SUBMERGE: Beyond the Render. It’s an immersive collection compiled of 12 different artworks from 16 different independent artists. Ranging from abstract art to immersive storytelling experiences, SUBMERGE: Beyond the Render takes guests on a variety of journeys with the opportunity to explore and support new artists.
SUBMERGE: Beyond the Render is a collaboration with Render Network, made possible by their decentralized GPU infrastructure. With the connection of thousands of GPUs worldwide, these independent creators are given access to technology once limited to just major studios. This allows artists to render their works in full 18k resolution in just a few weeks, a process that would typically take months to complete. SUBMERGE: Beyond the Render is now the record-breaking largest showcase of rendered immersive art.

Each work featured is different and unique in its own way, some pieces being more ethereal and abstract while others are more dystopian and futuristic. Some focus around cultures, some on technology, and some on nature and the environment. Varying in themes and motifs, each piece is designed to ignite feelings within the viewers and invite them to interpret each piece in their own way, which is something I thoroughly enjoyed with this exhibition.
Some noteworthy artists include Emmy winner Maclej Kuclara in collaboration with fellow winner Emily Yang (@pplpleasr) who created White Rabbit: Immersive Adaptation, as well as David Ariew and Chelsea Evenstar with music by Zedd, featuring 1685: Immersive, which is an expansion from Zedd’s centerpiece for the 2025 Coachella encore.
