Since its opening on September 24th, Holden & Astor has become the newest culinary destination in downtown New York.

Owned by Shawn Kolodny and Ryan Tarantino, the comfortable and lively new hotspot in the Meatpacking District is an American restaurant that mixes traditional meals with modern touches thanks to the work of the brilliant Executive Chef Carmine di Giovanni who has worked with incredible restaurants such as Cipriani, Tourant and Picholine in the past.

Chef Carmine’s dinner menu will blow guests away with selections including guanciale with pickled mustard seed, radish and cilantro; diver scallops with cauliflower, blood orange, capers and lettuce; mac & cheese made with risotto style ditalini, wild mushroom, fontina and truffle; and blackened heritage pork tenderloin with corn pudding, clams and broccoli rabe.

The menu is also brimming with inspired cocktail creations. The playful and inventive cocktail menu curated by Sam Ziar includes the Lure, a vodka based concoction paired with lemon, lavender, coconut water and fruits rouges; the Wembley Stadium, which is comprised of pink peppercorn gin, crème de peche, peychaud’s bitters, lemon and orange; and the Avenue Walker, which features scotch, campari, cocchi torino, peychaud’s bitters and absinthe.

But don’t think it stops there. The desert menu is just as surprising and delicious as everything else in the restaurant. Options include ice cream sliders with pistachio ice cream and chocolate fudge, chocolate cake with salted butter popcorn ice cream and peaches and cream with brown sugar ice cream.

There is no bad day to enjoy this amazing culinary experience and have some drinks with your friends. Holden & Astor is located at 409 West 13th Street. For more information check out their website. See you there!
