Philadelphia favorite, High Street on Market, will bring its casual breakfast-through-dinner concept to the West Village this fall. The highly anticipated restaurant, appropriately titled High Street on Hudson, will be located at 637 Hudson Street.

The new outpost is expected to mirror the existing sister location with its signature breakfast sandwiches, fresh salads and bold dinner flavors. Alex Bois, former Sullivan Street alum, will head the on-site bread bakery, whose centrally located oven is intended to add an element of intimacy to the dining space by making guests feel closer to the action.

After a successful couple of years in Philadelphia, chef, Eli Kulp and co-owner, Ellen Yin were eager to get to work on a new project, and all signs pointed to New York. The duo received an influx of requests, and with Kulp’s culinary roots being in New York, “we felt it would be the perfect opportunity,” said Yin.

“We picked the West Village because of its similarity to our location in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood feel with a mix of tourism from the High Line and Whitney,” she added. “Being part of a community is extremely important to us.”

A New York City location has been a long-time dream of chef Kulp, who sustained severe injuries in the tragic Amtrack accident this spring. Though he still has a long road ahead of him, both he and Yin look forward to continuing their collaboration in the West Village.

The Hudson Street space will serve up some of High Street on Market’s most popular dishes, including the Red Eye Danish, the Duck Meatball Sandwich and the ‘Leave it to Us’ regional tasting menu served with house made breads and hand selected beer and wine.

“Our team is most looking forward to becoming a meeting place for neighborhood residents and West Village visitors alike,” said Yin, “while [also] becoming a member of, and drawing inspiration from, the vibrant NYC community.”
