With spring just right around the corner, the warmer weather is on its way, which means it’s almost time to break out the t-shirts and flip flops. We still have some time before that happens, however, but New York’s hottest rooftop bars are cleaning off the snow and are getting ready to open their doors. Here are some of the best rooftop bars in downtown Manhattan that you need to visit!
The Delancey
168 Delancey St.
Located on Delancey St., The Delancey features three levels, with a rooftop bar open year round. Available for group reservations, private parties and special events, The Delancey rooftop bar is a beautiful lounge setting that brings a tropical atmosphere to the city. Though it is a bit on the smaller side, The Delancey is a fantastic setting for parties or even just a night out with friends during the warmer months!
Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar
102 North End Avenue
The Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar is part of the Conrad New York Hotel and is only open seasonally. But no worries, the bar will be opening up next month, and will stay open until October! The bar provides stunning views and has a contemporary modern feel to it, and boasts an impressive and innovative cocktail menu. One of their signature drinks is the “Boozy Icepop,” which is an icepop served in a glass of Prosecco.
The Watermark Bar and Lounge
Pier 15 | 78 South Street
Open seasonally, the Watermark Bar is a stunning indoor and outdoor space perched on the new and ultra modern Pier 15 adjacent to New York’s South Street Seaport. Though not necessarily a “rooftop” location, its location on the waterfront gives patrons unparalleled views of the New York Harbor, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg Bridges. Guests can take in eye-catching views and the Seaport’s historic vessels docked nearby while enjoying a large variety of cocktails, draft beer and wine selections.
The Jimmy at The James Hotel
15 Thompson Street
Open year-round, the Jimmy at The James Hotel is a contemporary twist on a classic pub, with ’70s flair. During the colder months, guests can gather in the indoor lounge area with plenty of seating, and during the warmer months, guests have the ability to spill out onto the rooftop deck and take in the views. Located 18 stories up, patrons can enjoy gorgeous views of Midtown, Wall Street, the Hudson River, and the bridges spanning towards the East River while sipping on classic American inspired cocktails.
230 Fifth
230 Fifth Avenue
230 Fifth is home to New York’s largest rooftop garden and fully enclosed Penthouse Lounge. Open all year-round, 230 Fifth is one of the go-to rooftop bar destinations for any occasion. The bar boasts incredible views of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building, as well as other areas in Midtown. Guests can enjoy a large variety of cocktails, wines, and beers, as well as bottle service. Be sure to visit 230 Fifth during the spring and summer because it will be one of New York’s hottest rooftop destinations.
So as it heats up, be sure to visit some of New York’s hottest rooftop bars, and be sure to check out a few on this list. Enjoy!
