On Thursday evenings from February 21st to March 14th, the craft beer craze will take over Brookfield Place – the shopping, dining and office complex on the Hudson River in Lower Manhattan – for the second time as the iconic Winter Garden transforms into a classic biergarten that showcases 15 of New York’s top breweries from Upstate New York, Long Island, and New York City at the Best Brews of New York. Each week from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the Winter Biergarten will highlight local breweries’ craft offerings and food from Brookfield Place’s top eateries, with all beer sales benefitting Brookfield Place’s charitable partner, Habitat for Humanity.
The first three weeks will feature a different region of New York for a total of 15 breweries including Upstate’s Southern Tier Brewing Company, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Long Island’s Greenport Harbor Brewing Co., Blue Point Brewing Company, Barrier Brewing Co., and New York City’s The Bronx Brewery, Sixpoint, Harlem Brewing Company, and Coney Island Brewery to name a few.
Visitors will be invited to cast their vote for their favorite brew to determine which five breweries will make it to the final round on Thursday, March 14th. The People’s Choice winner will be decided by the event’s attendees, guided by New York State’s notable beer connoisseur, Anne Becerra.
“As one of the leading destinations in the city, we are deeply invested in developing creative events that bring the community together,” said Callie Haines, Senior Vice President, Asset Management at Brookfield Place. “We are all about creating unique experiences in a dynamic environment that gives people a reason to return to our stores, dining destinations and amenities. Our team is proud to welcome the second installation of Best Brews and top Breweries throughout New York again this year.”
The event is free to attend with food from Brookfield Place top eateries available for purchase throughout the festival. In partnership with the participating breweries, 100% of the beer sales will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
