This March, the 17th annual International Beauty Show and International Esthetics, Cosmetics, and Spa Conference hit NYC with everything from sparkly eye shadow and face masks to hair extensions and TENS devices. Here are some of the most exciting and eye catching trends we spotted on the show floor.
LeBody Form Body Massager
The show floor was full of various TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) devices. They start out simple and work their way up to this LeBody Form massager, specifically designed to operate at EMS mid-frequencies from 1,000–10,000 Hz. At these frequencies, the stimulation helps strengthen muscles and increases energy consumption. Basically, LeBody says that using the Form for ten minutes is the equivalent of more sit-ups than most of has have probably done in our lives. You can use it to relieve a sore muscle, or strap it around your waist while you’re doing dishes to build muscle and burn fat.
Nelly De Vuyst Cosmos Certified Products
We all know how important clean beauty is, and Nelly De Vuyst is taking it a step further with their COSMOS certified products. The products meet the highest standards for organic and natural ingredients, and, best of all, actually work. Their BioTense, BioAcne, and BioFemme lines all meet the requirements for COSMOS certification, and the BioAcne and BioFemme lines are also certified organic by Ecocert. Although the Canadian-made products are not available to consumers, be on the lookout for Nelly De Vuyst products at your favorite Tri-State area spas. We especially love the BioAcne Serum, which comes in an easy-to-use roller ball applicator and can be used all day.
LightStim LED Therapy
LED devices were all over the show this season. Like me, you might be wondering how light, which we’ve always been told is bad for out skin when it comes to the sun, can actually heal sun damage and other skin issues. LightStim delivers UV free light to the skin in different wavelengths that increase blood circulation and target things like fine lines, wrinkles, and mild to moderate acne. LightStim can also be used to relieve minor muscle and joint pain, mild arthritis, and muscle spasms by temporarily increasing local blood circulation and relaxing the muscles. The LED products come in handheld lights, panel lights, and even a full bed. Consumers can purchase wands for in home use, while spa technicians can purchase all of the products, which each come with a certification class.
GM Collin City D-Tox
Best known for their anti-aging serum capsules and partnership with the Oscars, GM Collin is an award winning line committed to effective, safe products. Their newest product is perfect for the busy New Yorker who is always running between the subway and other crowded city venues. The City D-Tox Serum and Eye Contour Gel provide the ultimate solution against pollution while hydrating skin and reducing wrinkles. Head to these spas to pick up your own pollution fighting duo.
Éminence Organic Skincare
Tons of booths offered plant-based, sustainable skincare products, but none was more crowded than Éminence Organic Skincare, a Hungarian brand that has been around since 1958. Their sustainable farming and green practices have made their handmade, natural, organic, Biodynamic products a favorite, and their B-Corp Certification means they aren’t just throwing those words around. Their products come in formulas that are both effective and flavorful like the strawberry-rhubarb hydrating and replenishing masque, lilikoi (passionfruit) sport sunscreen, andcitrus and kale vitamin masque. Spas all over the city use Éminence products in their treatments, you’ll recognize them for their tantalizing aromas!
