Last night, DOWNTOWN Magazine attended the 11th Annual TASTE of the JETS event which took place on the 54th floor of the beautiful office tower of 4 World Trade. The event was co-hosted by the New York Jets and Saks Fifth Avenue and sponsored by some of the top restaurants in the Tri-State Area such as Tao, Dos Caminos and Lavo, while dessert consisted of a custom, red-velvet NY Jets Cake designed by Buddy Valastro, the legendary Cake Boss of Carlo’s Bakery.
Many Jets players were featured in the fashion show which spotlighted bespoke suits from Saks Fifth Avenue. Wide receiver Eric Decker, quarterback Michael Vick and Jets’ captain and center, Nick Mangold stole the show modeling the gorgeous men’s apparel. After starting the Season 1-8, players, fans and staff were certainly in high spirits after the New York Jets defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-13 at MetLife Stadium this past Sunday.
Fans in attendance were able to meet and mingle with over twenty of their favorite Jets Players, sample delicious cuisines and of course raise money for the Food Bank of New York City, where all proceeds of the raffle and ticket sales were generously donated.
