Valerie Chabbot will be honored as Parent of the Year by The Park East School.

Park East’s esteemed Rabbi Arthur Schneier who was conferred a rare Papal Knighthood by Pope Francis in April, will serve as the event’s Guest of Honor. The Rabbi was previously honored with the Presidential Citizens Medal by President Bill Clinton in 2001.

Other honorees include Lewis C. Pell, who will receive the Community Leadership Award and Donny Wechsler, who has been named Educator of the Year.

Founded in 1888, the Park East Synagogue is a Byzantine New York landmark located on East 67th Street.

Rabbi Schneier established The Park East School in 1976. It later merged with East Side Hebrew Institute to provide an unparalleled Jewish Day School experience with intimate classes, cutting edge technology resources, and a well-rounded curriculum.

With 350 students, 67 faculty members and ranking in the top one percent in the American Mathematics competitions, the school has shown a tremendous level of success throughout it’s distinguished academic history.

“Insitutions like these not only provide a superior religious and cultural education for Jewish children, but a superior academic experience few schools can match,” says renowned New York developer Elie Hirschfeld, whose youngest child attends the school now, and older children attended the school as well.”

The black tie gathering will commence with a reception at 6 p.m. at the Waldorf with a dinner to follow at 7:30.
