A taste of Naples, Italy can be found right downtown; founded by Chef Roberto Caporuscio  Kestè Pizza & Vino offers an authentic Neapolitan style pizza experience.

Kestè Pizza & Vino is owned and operated by Robert Caporuscio. Caporuscio was trained in the art of making traditional style Neapolitan Pizza in his native Italy. In addition to learning from pizza making masters, he currently serves as the U.S. President of the Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani (APN) and runs a pizza making school for aspiring Neapolitan style chefs wanting to be registered with the APN. Caporuscio took his skills with him to America and eventually ended up right here in downtown New York. New York according to Caporuscio was “the dream.”

Kestè Pizza & Vino serves wood fired and freshly made pizzas. All of the equipment used by Caporuscio  is imported from Naples, Italy. The crust is soft, light, and fluffy. The toppings are plentiful, but never overwhelm the tasting experience. Of special note is the Kestè pie which the restaurant is named for, containing a hardy blend of tomato sauce, imported buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto di parma, arugula, gran cru, and extra virgin olive oil blended together for pizza experience which extends beyond being just a plain cheese pie.

Of course there’s one other ingredient to any food on the Kestè menu: passion. According to Caporuscio, passion, in addition to skill, is a key ingredient in crafting any pie.

Kestè Pizza & Vino is located at  271 Bleecker Street. They have dine-in and delivery service, so be sure to stop by and grab a pie!
