This year, New York Fashion Week had a handful of changes. With Mercedes-Benz having left NYFW, the location moved from Lincoln Center, and the CFDA bought the fashion calendar (led by Diane von Furstenberg.) With so many changes, the industry was in a small panic about how Fashion Week would work out. But this being the fashion industry, make-up was done, legs shaved, hair fixed, locations were booked, cameras were set up and garments were prepped. Despite a few small glitches here and there, NYFW was a huge success! Here of some of the NYFW top stories!

Madeline Stuart is the model with down syndrome who is taking the fashion industry by storm! The 18-year-old Australian model walked the runway for FTL and impressed everyone with her spunk, energy and positivity. She is currently in high demand as a model and will continue to model, and fit in as many charity events as possible.

Kanye West presented his Kanye West X Adidas Originals Collection at NYFW last minute and lost some major points with other designers who were planning to present on the same day. Anne Bowen told Women’s Wear Daily that the move left her scrambling for other plans to launch her streetwear collection, (Nomad VII by Anne Bowen.) Her showing was booked the same time as Kanye West’s, and she had been planning this day for over a year.

Ashley Graham released her body positive lingerie runway show at NYFW and modeled in the show as well! She opened and closed the show, and although, at first, she didn’t want to walk in her own show she decided to take the plunge to show her audience what she looks like in lingerie and that she believes in the project!

Lady Gaga’s stylist debuted his own line at NYFW, and it was a success! Brandon Maxwell showed off a sleek and classy collection, which was very wearable (to our surprise.) There were many big names at the show including Gaga, Alexander Wang, and Stephan Gan.

Lauren Conrad debuted her Kohl’s collection and already has the 100-plus piece collection on sale just 6 days after its launch! The collection is already advertising the markdowns, and retail prices run from $12 to $300.

Alice and Olivia showed a stunning mix of elegance and sophistication paired with casual denims and slouchy off the shoulder pieces. The collection had a surprising mix to it, but it remained cohesive, glamorous, and modern.

Anna Sui went in a different direction with her SS16 collection, showing a very beachy, Hawaiian style. All of the models were dressed in minimal clothing with vibrant colors, and covered in flowers. If you picture yourself on the vacation of your dreams, probably on the beach somewhere, this collection has you covered!

Badgley Mischka showed a gorgeous and majestic collection at NYFW this year, with elegant, feminine colors and dainty embellishments that wowed the audience. The SS16 collection included soft pinks, whites and black.
