The MFA Photography, Video and Related Media program at the School of Visual Arts is actively-engaged in the future of our media. The first program to fully embrace the digital image in the late 1980s, SVA’s program has always pushed its students to explore the possibilities of the lens-based image.

Since its inception, this program has been the pioneer of integrating technology to the creative pursuits of the lens arts. As it continues to move forward, SVA has created a new course structure that highlights the multiple roles of the camera, as well as interdisciplinary and extended media opportunities. Its world-renowned faculty is diverse and engaged with all the new issues from computational imaging, theoretical and conceptual-thinking, to traditional real world practice.

Information session dates in New York are Nov. 12 and Dec. 8. In addition, SVA will have a representative at two upcoming Graduate National Portfolio Days: in New York on Oct. 30 and in Chicago on Nov. 5. Full information about these events can be found on SVA’s website.
