On Saturday, Aug 26, star tennis players such as John McEnroe, Patrick McEnroe, Chris Evert and more take over to the Hamptons for the Johnny Mac Tennis Project Pro AM. And you, too, can play along.
“We have created an annual event with 128 players, which is the size of a Grand Slam draw — pretty incredible,” said John McEnroe.
Back for its third year, the Johnny Mac Tennis Project Pro AM allow amateurs to team up with the pros in some nerve-racking doubles matches. And for eight lucky amateurs, the event also includes an exclusive Benefactor Level, where there will be rounds to compete with and against the tennis stars.
The tennis matches will play out from 3 – 7 p.m. at SPORTIME Amagansett in East Hampton, and you can sign up and purchase your tickets right here. Following the matches, there will be an after party hosted by John McEnroe and friends for the players, guests and fans. This includes hors d’oeuvres, a buffet dinner, an open bar, live entertainment and dancing, and a live auction.

The event will once again raise funds to support young, aspiring tennis players.
“The Johnny Mac Tennis Project believes that tennis is a change agent and a sport of opportunity for kids,” said Executive Director of Johnny Mac Tennis Project (JMTP), Ron Nano.
The program offers a wide range of help. From introductory programs provided to schools and community-based organizations, which focus on cultivating healthy lifestyles and self-discipline, to world-class tournament training for aspiring college scholarship recipients and professional athletes, the project’s initiative aims to be well-rounded and wants to support beginners as well as advanced players.

This year the lineup reads two new tried-and-true tennis talents.
“We have added Chris Evert and Pat Cash to the group, joining my brother Patrick, me, and Mats, with more players to come. It is all about the mission — to bring tennis to New York City kids who could not otherwise get to play, and to make some great New York players,” said John McEnroe.
“This annual event is a unique and exciting opportunity in the Hamptons, right before the U.S. Open, to play or watch some great tennis, to see some Tennis Legends competing close-up, and to support a great cause,” added Patrick McEnroe, who also serves as President of JMPT’s Board of Directors.
“Most importantly, this event allows us to continue bringing tennis to kids and young adults who otherwise would not have access to the sport,” he said.
