In honor of the recent New York Fashion Week taking our town by storm, Downtown took a look at the latest from Shiseido.
This season’s collection was inspired by illustrator Tony Viramontes. Shiseido Artistic Director Dick Page wanted to bring his use of quick, decorative lines and smudges to the face of the models. Featuring a smudged eye and bare face, lips and cheeks, this was an artistic look to complement the clothing:
Cheek: The cheeks were moisturized and left completely bare.
Eye: A brown cream shadow was applied to the inner and outer parts of the lower eye, with the middle left blank; to create a similar look, use Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Leather. Next, Dick used the Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil in Black to draw a quick line from the inner corner out, leaving space between the lash line and pencil line. Finally, he used a dark brown powder shadow to fill in the space and slightly smudge the line; this can be recreated with a shade similar to the dark brown found in the Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in Strata.
Brow: Brows were brushed up to make them bushy using a gel.
