On Sunday, June 28 NYC Pride celebration, Dance on the Pier took place. NYC Pride’s amazing event returned to the Hudson River Park’s Pier 26 in Tribeca. The doors opened at 3:00 p.m. and lasted until 10:00 p.m. Dance on the Pier celebrated its 29th year as the largest fundraiser for NYC Pride and the LGBT non-profit grant winners.
This year they continued to bring the biggest and best talent from around the world. Out of control music was presented by DJ’s: The Cube Guys, DJ Ralph Rosario, and DJ Wayne G. There was also a particularly explosive performance by Ariana Grande. Local New Yorkers were certainly celebrating NYC Pride but also were luckily enough to celebrate a piece of history that was being made this weekend: Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage is now legal nationwide. Ariana Grande started off her heart pounding, inspirational performance with songs by Whitney Houston, “I’m Every Woman” and Madonna “Vogue” before she ended with her greatest hits, “Love Me Harder, Bang Bang, and Problem.”

Patrons were also able to enjoy drinks and delicious food from local vendors. While some danced around and had a good time, others could head on over to the on-demand beauty service, Glam Squad‘s tent to get their hair and makeup done for the dance.
The entire event closed with the world’s longest-running LGBT fireworks display over the Hudson River produced by Pyro Engineering, Inc. All proceeds from the Dance on the Pier benefit New York City’s Official Pride events and local LGBT community organizations.
