On Thursday, April 28 Designer Mi Jong Lee opened up her newly renovated boutique Emelle on Madison Avenue to host selected guests for an exclusive preview of her new namesake brand. To celebrate the launch, the store was bedecked with cherry blossoms and guests were served sparkling rose and customized Laduree macaroons while marvelling over the Prefall and Fall 2016 collection.

“I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the amazing support for the launch of my collection on Thursday evening. I am constantly inspired by artists from diverse cultural backgrounds,” said Mi Jong Lee.

The designer found her inspiration in the late Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. Hadid had a special interest in fragmented geometry and parametricism which clearly showed in Mi Jong Lee’s collections – especially the Fall 2016.

The event was one of great designs and great company. In attendance among others was Grace Capobianco, the CEO/ Publisher of Downtown Magazine.

“I was pleased to be invited to this talented designer’s spring soirée and cocktail reception for an exclusive preview. The quality, detail, and design of her clothing is everything that savvy women of today look for when purchasing from a designer. Luxurious fabrics, fit perfection and artisanal finishes. I could have purchased the entire collection,” Grace Capobianco said.
