MacarOn Café Hosts Penthouse Summer Series Event

While known for their delicious macarons, the MacarOn Café offers so much more than their tasty treats, including hosting events! Recently at their new location in the Fashion District at 152 W 36th St., they hosted a fashion show sponsored by Penthouse magazine.  The location perfectly suited the event, because the new venue includes a runway, and it was small and intimate enough to meet and mingle with the designers and other contributors at the event.

Designers in attendance included Carmen Anderson, whose line is made from sustainably sourced and natural fibers. Though simple, the clothes are versatile, and what Anderson calls “comfortable with an edge.” Controlled Addiction was also in attendance, which is a menswear line that is looking to go against the “normal” or “cookie cutter” trends of the fashion world.  Lingerie designer Bex NYC showed off their collection of intimates inspired by pushing the boundaries of traditional gender roles by utilizing men-inspired details combined with sexy, feminine silhouettes.

While the fashion show was going on, guests got to mingle with each other and enjoy small bites provided by caterer Kitchen Bird.  All of those who attended also received a complimentary gift bag, with products from Face Parlor, Trend Movement, designer Olivia Anthony, Mattify Cosmetics and macarons from the MacarOn Café.

The event was a huge success, and a great opportunity for up-and-coming designers to showcase their work. For photos of the event, check them out below:
