East End luminaries and concerned environmentalists gathered recently for the 27th Annual Summer Gala Benefit at the South Fork Natural History Museum (SOFO) at the Bridgehampton-based museum.

The event raises vital funds in support of the educational and environmental programs hosted by the SOFO.

“We are so very happy to be honoring the great humanitarians the Patsy and Jeff Tarr Family and Anke and Jürgen Friedrich, and to be welcoming featured Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, our special co-hosts Tracy Anderson and Katie Lee, and our Chairs Ann Liguori and Kim and Greg Lippman at SoFo’s 27th Annual Summer Gala Benefit,” said Diana Aceti, Director of Development & Events at SoFo.

Among the special attendees were Dr. Richard Firshein and special honored guest, Susan Rockefeller.

Philanthropist and publisher Patsy Tarr and husband Jeff — founders of the 2wice Arts Foundation — were among the honorees at the prestigious affair (SOFO).

The Tarrs launched the non-profit foundation which supports the visual and performing arts in 1989, and also publish a 2wice magazine which appropriately comes out twice a year.

Also honored were German real estate professionals, Anke and Jurgen Friederich, who are very active in the Hamptons.

“The museum performs a critical role in increasing knowledge of and appreciation for the natural environment,” said attendee and Museum supporter, Dr. Richard Firshein. “It provides the ONLY state-of-the-art facility for this kind of valuable research and education on the South Fork of Long Island and deserves all of our support.”

The museum is dedicated to teaching and inspiring families to become engaged and responsible caretakers of our planet now and for generations to come.
