On Friday, August 7th, Citi held an exclusive concert for its cardmembers starring country superstar Luke Bryan at Irving Plaza to celebrate the release of his fifth studio album, Kill the Lights. The concert was streamed live on the Live Nation Channel on Yahoo.

Tickets went on sale August 5th, and the show sold out within 2 days. Doors opened at 7 p.m., however, the show did not start until 9 p.m. Most guests were admitted into the general floor area at the stage level, while VIPs and special guests had access to the second floor balcony, complete with a seating area and bar.

Kill the Lights is Bryan’s follow-up album to the smashing success, Crash My Party, which contains 6 consecutive No.1 singles, is certified Double Platinum and has sold over 2 million copies with 8 million digital downloads.

The concert kicked off with Bryan singing his single, “Kick the Dust Up,” as well as performing songs off the new album, along with crowd favorites such as “Rollercoaster,” “That’s My Kind of Night,” and “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).” The concert was extremely intimate compared to most of Bryan’s shows at arenas and large concert venues. Everyone was in close proximity of the stage, and the crowd fed off of Bryan’s energy.

Citi offers its credit and debit cardholders access to thousands of events each year through its Citi Private Pass, the bank’s entertainment access program.
