Hey readers, it’s National Hotdog Day and Downtown has the perfect dog to celebrate. This isn’t just your old fashion American hotdog either. This is Japadog and it’s located on 30 St. Marks Place, and it literally has got to be the most unique hotdog joint in the city.

You definitely won’t want to pass up this downtown Japanese eatery’s spin on the American classic. With favorites on their menu such as the Terimayo: Signature Hot Dog with Teriyaki sauce, mayo and seaweed will make you want to never eat a regular hot dog again.

This place is interesting and definitely for the hotdog lovers out there. But if you don’t want anything too out there on your dog then they also have plain dogs for you to choose from.

For instance, they offer dogs made from the all beef, bratwurst, turkey, three cheese smoky (with Swiss, Cheddar, and Havarti cheese), the Arabiki A sausage (which is made from coarse ground pork), the Kurobuta Pork dog, (which is a Kurobuta pork sausage), and lastly they have the veggie dog which is of course from non-meat products.

Now we’ve talked about the base and what kind of dog you can choose from, but now let’s talk about the variety of toppings they offer. With Japanese noodles, flavored rice, crunchy shrimp tempura, kimchi, avocado and shrimp sausage you definitely will have to get more than just one dog.

So, don’t forget to stop by Japadog and grab yourself one, two, or maybe even three specialty Japadogs for National Hotdog Day! Patrons can visit their website here, for more information.
