At each program, Sarah brings together two remarkable New Yorkers from different worlds to examine key concepts and commonly-held beliefs about life in the city, its limits, and its possibilities. The conversations are inspired by the Museum’s new exhibition New York At Its Core, which tells the story of NYC’s 400-year history through the lens of four themes: money, density, diversity, and creativity.
For this inaugural program, former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz — tireless champion of the five boroughs — and Lower East Side outlaw artist and activist Clayton Patterson will debate the state of New York’s creative soul circa 2017.
I Love New York? is not the only exciting programming coming to the Museum this month. Ungendering Fashion — featuring Dapper Chick Editor-in-Chief Sara Geffrard and blogger Anita Dolce Vita — will be presented on Jan. 12. Bridge And Tunnel will take place on Jan. 25, as led by James Solomon and Bill Genovese. Zoning For Public Good follows on Jan. 26, as including Hunter College’s Tom Angotti, the New York City Council’s Daniel Garodnick, the Rose Center for Public Leadership in Land Use’s Joe Rose, and The Regional Plan Association’s Moses Gates.
