  1. Artisan Holiday Market

Union Square  (Union Square)

Monday-Friday from 11:00 AM-8:00 PM; Saturday from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM; Sunday from 11:00 AM-7:00 PM  (through Saturday, Dec. 24)

Pitching their candycane tents, the return of the Union Square Holiday Market this Thursday makes it clear the holidays are here. The eclectic selections of handmade, local and artisan gifts — everything from soaps, books and jewelry to ceramics, chocolates and sweaters — at this outdoor market will impress even the most fussy person on your gift list. And, as a reward for getting your Christmas shopping done early, swing by Doughnuttery for a hot cider and a doughnut.

  1. Nom Wah Nolita

Nom Wah Nolita (Nolita)

Daily

The new Nom Wah Nolita still serves the dim sum that made the original Nom Wah Tea Parlor famous, but there are a number of new dishes at this sleeker spinoff  (char siu glazed pork ribs, kohlrabi salad, Cantonese smoked chicken leg with ginger scallion sauce) that will no doubt merit a following all of their own.
