While you wait for your weekly fix of HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” why not join other fans for a night of Games of Thrones Trivia where you can “raise your poisoned glasses [to] celebrate five seasons of wedding mishaps, family squabbles, and good guys always winning at Game of Thrones.”

3. Cats and Sake
Koneko (Lower East Side)
Wed, May 11th at 6pm

Cat cafes, among them the lovely Koneko, are one of the best things that have happened in New York this year. We are really excited that Koneko has now added cool monthly events to their calendar. We are going to check out the Sake Tasting this Wednesday where will taste and learn about a variety of sakes before retiring (and possibly falling asleep) to the Cattery for an hour long snuggle/purring session.

4. Cuba Festival
The Joyce Theater (Chelsea)
Tues, May 10th-Sun, May 22nd (check site for performance times)

This month, the first American cruise ship to Cuba in almost 40 years arrived at Havana harbour. Cuba is high on our to visit list, but in the meantime we are going to check out the Cuban contemporary dance scene in a two week program at the Joyce, with performances from Malpaso Dance Company, DanzAbierta and Irene Rodríguez Compañía. Tickets start at $20

5. Port City Ghost Story

Thurs, May 12-Thurs, May 19th (check site for performance times)

Port Cities Project is a “theatrical journey” part of a 5 city global performance that traces the 17th century Dutch trade routes. It starts on a ferry that takes audiences from Financial District to Red Hook. Once there, they will board the Waterfront Museum Barge for a multimedia performance that tells a haunting story of a young girl’s family legacy, her ancestors’ complicated role in the history and lives of New York.

6. Guitar Festival
Check site for complete list of Venues
Sun, May 8th- Sun, May 15th

The New York Guitar Festival explores “virtually every aspect of the guitar’s musical personality.” Guitar and music lovers can see the likes of David Torn, Ben Monder, Nels Cline, Vernon Reid, Noveller and Wolfgang Muthspiel. Many performances, events and classes on the roster at spots like The Met Cloisters, National Sawdust and DROM.
