1. Lower East Side Film Festival

The Lower East Side Film Festival showcases low-budget and independent films from across the globe, but this affair is far from low-profile. Ethan Hawke joins the panel of jurors and there is always a slew of killer parties! Don’t miss the opening night film “Art of the Prank” and, more importantly, the after-party at DROM where $20 cover includes live bands and an open bar with beer and wine.

2. Daybreaker Weeklong Party

What’s better than a Daybreaker party to jumpstart your week? How about a whole week of Daybreaker parties with themes like80’s Glam, Hip Hop Don’t Stop, Disco at DUSK, 90’s Throwback and Beach Party? With the added perks of cold brew coffee, healthy juices, and tasty breakfast snacks, this event is good reason to set your alarm clock super early this week. Tickets start at $25.

3. Loving Day
Solar 1 (Stuyvesant Town)
Saturday, Jun. 11 from 3-7pm

The world would be a much better place with a little more love in it. Named after Loving v. Virginia, the 1967 Supreme Court decision that declared all laws against interracial marriage unconstitutional, Loving Day is a celebration of diversity and multiculturalism. This all-love party features live musical performances, Big D’s Grub Truck and free Asahi beer with a $10 donation.

4. Big Apple Barbecue
Madison Square Park
Satursday, Jun. 11 – Sunday, Jun. 12 from 11am-6pm

“Get sauced” with 14 of the finest pitmasters from across the county during two days of Big Apple Barbecue. We can’t wait to taste the heat and smoke from Ed Mitchell, Hometown BBQ, Memphis Bar-B-Que Co., Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q and Skylight Inn. Live musical performances throughout the day.

5. LGBT Chelsea Art Gallery Tour
526 West 26th St. (Chelsea)
Saturday, Jun. 11 at 4pm

See great art and mingle! This lively tour will highlight the latest artwork by gay and lesbian artists, as well as “others of interest to a queer sensibility,” including work from painter and printmaker David Hockney and a special talk from photographer Karine Laval. $25

6. Washington Square Music Festival
Washington Square Park (West Village)
Tuesday, Jun. 7 – Tuesday, Jun. 28 at 8pm

Jun. 7 marks the start of a month-long classical concert series at Washington Square Park. We can’t imagine a lovelier Tuesday evening than in the company of Vivaldi, Brahms and Nielsen, al fresco.
