1. New York Wine
The Altman Building (Chelsea)
Tues, Mar 8th from 6-8pm

NY Drinks NY is an event that celebrates New York winemakers and food artisans. Sip and taste your way through the Finger Lakes, Long Island, the Hudson River Valley, Lake Erie, the Thousand Islands and Niagara Escarpment. These local pours and bites will confirm that New York is, and always was, the best at everything! $45

2. Midnight Cinema
Sunshine Cinema (Lower East Side)
Fri, Mar 11th and Sat, March 12th at 12am

In a city that never sleeps it’s nice to know that you catch a midnight flick, just because… This Saturday and Sunday, Sunshine Cinema will do a midnight screen of the epic Bruce Lee film, “Enter the Dragon”, for just $10!

3. Batali/Bastianich Do Breakfast
La Sirena (Chelsea)
Open Daily for Breakfast (7-11am) and Dinner (5:30-11pm)

Reservations are going to be hard to come by at the new Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich venture, La Sirena. Located in the Maritime Hotel, and with Spring around the corner, it’ll be worth the wait to enjoy a meal at the sprawling indoor-outdoor space. In the meantime, we have had more luck getting breakfast, a first for Batali, and man is it good! Duck Egg and Polenta, Soft Scrambled Eggs with Fresh Black Umbrian Truffles or Amaretti Mascarpone Pancakes will have you starting your day off right!

4. Iran Then and Now
Grey Art Gallery/NYU (Greenwich Village)
Tues, Thurs & Fri from 11am-6pm; Weds, from 11am-8pm; Sat 11am-5pm

With sanction against Iran finally lifted, the art show at Grey Art Gallery/NYU is timely, giving goers a unique opportunity to see life in Iran from artist born between 1937 and 1981. Working in a wide range of mediums, paintings, sculpture, drawings and more, the show is a personal and generational perspective of Iran and the people who have lived through its tumultuous history. 5. New York Cocktails
Suffolk Arms (Lower East Side)
Mon-Sun 5pm-4am

With portraits of influential New Yorkers and a menu that features Russ & Daughters Smoked Fish Platter the new Suffolk Arms is a New York cocktail pub. First there are the “Signature Cocktails” like the B & B & B (banana, bourbon, butter); then there are the the “Modern Classics” like the Grapefruit Cooler from Audrey Saunders, for example; and lastly, the “Vodka Cocktails” like the Porn Star (Aylesbury Duck vodka, passion fruit, lime, vanilla and pink Champagne). This place has so much going for it, we just might crown it our favorite bar of 2016, so far…
