Here are some exciting events and sites to check out in downtown New York this week, courtesy of Gogobot. Visit the website or download the app for more GoGo This Week upcoming events.

1. Sushi, Sake, Sunset, Sail

Chelsea Piers (Pier 62) – W. 22nd and Hudson River (Manhattan, NY)

Mon, Aug 31st from 6:30-8:30pm

If you set sail at all this summer, and you must, then we suggest you splurge on this one. Nothing accompanies the breathtaking views of Manhattan, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty and Battery Park like sushi and sake pairings from sushi king Masaharu Morimoto (who for the record will not be on board) on an elegant 105-foot schooner. $124

2. Farmhouse Italian

La Pecora Bianca (NOMAD)

Nightly at 5pm (all day dining coming soon)

The newly opened La Pecora Bianca is one of those restaurants that really understands authentic Italian cuisine; seasonal ingredients, locally produced and simply prepared. Their straightforward menu, which includes stand-outs like homemade Red Fife Tagliatelle Bolognese, Emmer Maccheroni with peas, pecorino, fava beans, and hen of the woods mushrooms, and the Galleto roast chicken, with corn and pickled serrano chili, will leave you feeling both nourished and impressed.

3. Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit

Washington Square Park to West 3rd street near NYU (Greenwich Village)

Sat-Mon, Sept 5th- 7th and Sept 12th-13th from 12-6pm

Greenwich Village is arguably the most historically artistic neighborhood in New York. Spend your Labor Day weekend casually browsing this sidewalk art exhibit. Artists and craftsmen from New York and around the world will be displaying their works — among which you will find paintings, jewelry, ceramics, photography, sculpture and more. FREE

4. Drexler’s Bar

Drexler’s (Alphabet City)

Mon-Wed & Sun 4pm-2am Thu-Sat 4pm-4am

The new bar Drexler’s, which replaces Ella, is epitome of coolness–vintage walls, brick, concrete bar, curvy iron work, bathtubs filled with beer, a piano and church pew seating. Offering creative cocktails, specialty brews and drink friendly picnic-style snacks like cured meats, cheeses and spreads, this spot is destined to become your go-to bar.

5. The Ultimate Ice Cream Sandwich

Maman (Soho) Sat 8am-6pm & Sunday 9am- 6pm

Maman’s chocolate chip cookies have a legion of followers. This summer, the bakers have taken the next natural step, smearing McConnell’s Fine Ice Cream between the two cookies to create the most decadent ice cream sandwich of this fading (sad face) summer. Be warned these little babies are only available from Friday-Sunday. Thank god for that because some of us are still trying to work it on the beach.

6. Unicycle Festival

Battery Park (check site for additional locations)

Thurs-Sun, Sept 3-6th (check site for times)

Who says two is better than one! The Unicycle festival celebrates the greatest invention of them all, the wheel. Just the one, perfect, wheel… With tons of events throughout the five boroughs, pros and amateurs alike can enjoy mono-wheel activities like distance rides, workshops, unicycle classes, performances, unicycle hockey, basketball, sumo and a trials course. FREE
