Five Dinner Date Night Spots

by | Jul 20, 2017 | Dining, Downtown Living

To us, summer means long nights, sipping wine on patios and enjoying the delicious cuisine, that the city offers. What makes these nights even sweeter, you ask? Enjoying them with loved ones. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite restaurants with perfect locations to make a complete date night out of your dinner.

The Wild Son

Unlike other restaurants in the Meatpacking District, The Wild Son is quiet and relaxed. The menu revolves around healthy dishes with plenty of healthy proteins, vegetables and grains, such as black rice with veggies and egg or rainbow carrots. Most dishes are perfect for sharing, making it ideal for date night (unless you or your S.O. doesn’t like sharing food of course). The Wild Son is located between the High Line and the Hudson River, giving you plenty of options for an evening walk or maybe even stopping by the Whitney Museum for a romantic rooftop view.

There’s beauty in simplicity, and the same goes for food. The Smile serves delicious Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including plenty of small dishes to share, healthy salads as well as hearty entrees. Whether you’re in the mood for a light bite to pair with a glass of wine, such as olives with toasted bread or a more comforting ricotta gnudi, The Smile hits the spot. Living up to its name, this restaurant with friendly waiters guarantees to put a smile on your face. The restaurant is located in NoHo just steps away from Broadway, making it the perfect end to a day of shopping in SoHo.

Rosemary’s

Italian food, an abundance of Italian wines and great ambiance – what more could want for date night? Rosemary’s is located in Greenwich Village, serving seasonal Italian dishes with herbs and produce from their very own rooftop farm! The rustic décor, romantic dim lights and excellent service create the perfect atmosphere, while impressing your date at the same time. Make sure to get the focaccia with taleggio cheese and black truffle to start, and end your evening with some entertainment in Washington Square Park.

Two Hands Restaurant & Bar

The Australian Two Hands Restaurant & Bar serves delicious dinners in a bright and airy space. The white brick walls, relaxing vibes and waiters with Aussie accents take you away from the hustle and bustle in New York City. Two Hands serves simple, beautiful presented dishes, including salmon in a honey lime vinaigrette, Sriracha shrimp sliders and crispy potatoes with black garlic. End your night with a stroll to Battery Park, or get something sweet for dessert at Milkbar’s latest location on Wall Street!

Seamore’s

Seafood lovers unite! Seamore’s serves sustainable fish in the most instagrammable dinner setting with a large outdoor seating area, making it the perfect spot for a warm summer evening. The menu offers plenty of healthy options, including their daily landing of fish, salads and sides of vegetables. But Seamore’s also covers your Taco Tuesday needs, as well as those burger cravings – the side of greens makes it all ok. Whatever you do, order the avocado fritters for the crew. Deep fried avocados are the best thing since avo-toast. Finish up your dinner with Odd Fellows soft serve or their ever-changing super special dessert.
